Web Traffic

Web Traffic is the amount of data sent and received by visitors to a web site. This is determined by the number of visitors and the number of pages they visit. Your total transfer is the sum of all in-and-out-bound traffic (Web, e-mail and FTP).

Disk Space

Disk storage is used to store your HTML files, graphics, audio clips, and all other files that make up your website online. Each of our shared hosting plans includes a specified allotment of disk storage space.

Windows 2003 Server

Windows Server 2003 is the most productive infrastructure platform for powering connected applications, networks, and Web services from the workgroup to the data centre. Easy to deploy, manage, and use, Windows Server 2003 helps you build a secure IT infrastructure that provides a powerful application platform for quickly building connected solutions and an information worker infrastructure for enhanced communication and collaboration anytime and anywhere.

POP3 Email Accounts

Post Office Protocol (POP3) is a method of retrieving e-mail from a server using an e-mail program such as Microsoft Outlook.

Email Aliases

An alias is another way of sending email to your POP3 account. For example if you have a receptionist with an email account typically this account would be something like reception@yourdomain.co.nz.

With email aliases you can also “bind” other names (aliases) to that account, e.g frontdesk@yourdomain.co.nz, Jenny@yourdomain.co.nz, jenni@yourdomain.co.nz can be an alias of reception@yourdomain.co.nz

This means you can receive email on multiple different email accounts yet they are all sent to your single POP3 account for ease of use thus eliminating the need to login / check / download email from multiple individual POP3 accounts.

Email Catch-All

Your Email Catch-all collects all email that is sent to an invalid or non-existing email address at your domain name.
The catch-all an easy way to enhance your Internet presence, because you can make up email addresses that always go to the same place. Your catch-all will also catch any misspelled emails that get sent to your domain.

Unfortunately spam is a permanent downside to having a catchall as ALL (including [spam] marked) emails get redirected to the single account.

Spam email

Spam by e-mail is a type of spam that involves sending identical (or nearly identical) messages to thousands (or millions) of recipients. Perpetrators of such spam ("spammers") often harvest addresses of prospective recipients from Usenet postings or from web pages, obtain them from databases, or simply guess them by using common names and domains. By definition, spam occurs without the permission of the recipients.

Spam Filtering

Our Mail Server checks the probability of an email being spam for all inbound e-mail, and marks spam so it can be filtered using a client side mail filter to move spam to a designated folder to maximize the efficiency of your e-mail system.

Email Virus Protection

Our Mail Server checks for viruses on all inbound e-mail, destroying infected messages to prevent infection.

FTP Access

The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a software standard for transferring computer files between computers. i.e your computer and the Hosting Server.

Weekly Backups

EnlightenHosting creates weekly backups of your website.

Website Statistics

Wusage is a powerful statistics program for monitoring your site's performance, including number of hits, viewer locations, and peak browsing times.

Web Mail

Read, send and receive e-mail from a standard web browser on any computer, anywhere and easily.

Access To Log Files

Supports Multiple Websites

SSL Certificate

SSL/TLS provides endpoint authentication and communications privacy over the Internet using cryptography. In typical use, only the server is authenticated (i.e. its identity is ensured) while the client remains unauthenticated; mutual authentication requires PKI deployment to clients. The protocols allow client/server applications to communicate in a way designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, and message forgery.

Microsoft® ASP

Active Server Pages (ASP) is Microsoft's server-side technology for dynamically-generated web pages that is marketed as an add-on to Internet Information Services (IIS).

Microsoft® ASP.NET

Even though ASP.NET takes its name from Microsoft's old web development technology, ASP (Active Server Pages), the two differ widely. Microsoft has completely rebuilt ASP.NET, based on the CLR shared by all Microsoft .NET applications. Programmers can write ASP.NET code using any of the different programming languages supported by the .NET framework, usually (proprietary) Visual Basic.NET, JScript .NET, or (standardized) C#, but also including open-source languages such as Perl and Python. ASP.NET is faster because the entire web site is precompiled to one or a few dll files on a Web Server and the Web Site runs faster compared to the previous scripting technology.

Microsoft® FrontPage 2002 Extensions

Microsoft® FrontPage® is a Web design utility that allows you to create and maintain websites, without HTML or FTP. The FrontPage® 2002 Server Extensions expand the capability of FrontPage®.

Microsoft SQL Server Database

Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system produced by Microsoft. It supports a superset of Structured Query Language (SQL), the most common database language. It is commonly used by businesses for small to medium sized databases, and in the past 5 years large enterprise databases.

Microsoft SQL Disk Space

This is the amount of SQL disk space allocated to your database as defined by your Hosting Plan. This is the maximum size your database is allowed to be before incurring extra charges for any additional space used.
